1. The agreement
By using Namore, you agree to these Terms of Use. Namore is operated by an independent developer based in Fürth, Germany — full operator details are in the Impressum. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the app.
2. Who can use Namore
Namore is for adults expecting or planning to have a child together. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, if higher) to use the app. The app is not directed at, and we don't knowingly collect data from, anyone under 16.
3. How accounts work
You can use Namore anonymously, with a 6-letter session code shared between you and your partner. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, that account links your session to an authenticated identity. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. We can't recover an anonymous session if you uninstall the app and lose the code.
4. Purchases and refunds
Namore offers a one-time unlock at €7.99 (or local equivalent), processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. The unlock applies to the buyer permanently and to the buyer's current session-partner for the duration of the active session.
- Refunds are handled by Apple and Google according to their store policies, not by us. To request a refund, use the App Store or Google Play purchase history.
- No subscriptions, no auto-renewals. €7.99 is a single charge.
- Restoring a purchase on a new device is supported via the "Restore purchase" link inside the app.
5. Right of withdrawal · Widerrufsbelehrung
You generally have the right to withdraw from a contract for digital content within 14 days under EU consumer law (§ 312g BGB). However, this right does not apply to digital content delivered immediately on a non-physical medium once delivery has begun, provided you have expressly consented to immediate delivery and acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal (§ 356 Abs. 5 BGB).
Before completing the €7.99 unlock purchase, the in-app paywall asks you to confirm:
"I agree that the unlock is delivered immediately upon purchase, and I acknowledge that I thereby lose my right of withdrawal."
("Ich stimme zu, dass die Ausführung sofort beginnt, und ich bestätige, dass ich damit mein Widerrufsrecht verliere.")
By tapping "Unlock" / "Confirm purchase" you give that consent. Until then, no purchase is initiated and no charge is made. If you do not consent, simply close the paywall and continue using the free tier.
If you have not yet started using the unlocked features, you may still request a refund directly from Apple or Google under their store policies, which may be more permissive than the strict statutory rule above.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Namore to:
- Try to break, reverse-engineer, or scrape the app, the API, or the name database
- Bypass usage limits or paywalls through automation or fraud
- Harass, harm, or impersonate another person inside a shared session
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute Namore or its name database
If we detect abuse, we may suspend your access without notice.
7. Content and ownership
The Namore app, its design, the name database, and all original content are owned by Namore. You may use the app for your personal name search and export your matches as a keepsake card. You may not reproduce, distribute, or build derivative products from the name database.
Display names and any text you enter into the app remain yours. By using the app, you grant us a limited licence to store and display that text inside your shared session, exclusively to operate the matching mechanic.
8. Service availability
Namore is provided "as is" and "as available." We do our best to keep it running, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service, freedom from bugs, or that any specific feature will remain available indefinitely. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Namore is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to: regret about the name you chose, family disagreements, or any decision you make on the basis of information shown in the app. The name we help you pick is your decision.
Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Namore is capped at the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months (which, for most users, is €7.99 or zero).
10. Privacy
Our handling of your personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
11. Changes to these Terms
If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and notify users via an in-app notice. Continued use of Namore after a material change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent court at the operator's place of business in Fürth, Germany, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise. Operator details are listed in the Impressum.
13. Consumer dispute resolution
We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (Verbraucherschlichtungsstelle) within the meaning of § 36 VSBG. Note: the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform under Art. 14(1) ODR Regulation was decommissioned on 20 July 2025 and Regulation (EU) No 524/2013 has been repealed.
